After failed attempts to reach water and Irrigation CS Hon Eugene  Wamalwa through Raila Odinga, Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has decided to run for Homabay Gubernatorial seat. Gov Kidero, on realisation that he had lost the Luhya vote that had significantly contributed to his election in 2013 settled on Homabay after the former Prime Minster Rt.Hon Raila Odinga confided in him that the Homabay Governor H.E. Gov. Awiti has  been a big let down to the coalition.

In a highly confidential meeting that was attended by the top 6 ODM decision makers, Raila said that he could not afford to have Gov Kidero out of Government. “All our business right now is as a result of you being there and we cannot afford to have you out,” said Raila. Gov Cyprian Awiti, was in return told he would be nominated into the national assembly and that he would represent the interests in the National Assembly that the current ODM legislators had not delivered.

Speaking during the meeting , Dr Evans Kidero acknowledged that he had done so much for Nairobi residents but the current Jubilee Party was unstoppable. “I personally have intelligence that president Uhuru has endorsed Eugene Wamalwa.” Said Gov  Kidero. This, he acknowledged, would distabilise the status quo since Hon Eugene Wamalwa is both a technocrat that most Nairobi residents would identify with and a seasoned politician.

However, political analyst, Adams Oloo, who was also present during the meeting emphasized the need for immediate use of the media at their disposal to send out a message that Hon. Eugene Wamalwa was to vie in Trans Nzoia County. “Once we send out this information, most of the voters within Nairobi will view him as an undecided person. Besides, it will be of advantage to us at the time we endorse Gov. Kidero for Homabay County,” he said.
