The Nairobi County Government is finalizing processing of title deeds for contentious parcels of land to be issued to genuine owners before the end of this year.
Governor Evans Kidero says they are collaborating with the ministry of lands to ensure legal land owners get their titles and land grabbers are punished as per the law.
Kidero says at least 500 thousand title deeds are expected to be issued before the end of this year.
The governor who was speaking after attending a Sunday church service in Umoja Nairobi defended the security surveillance system installed in the city saying the cameras are working 24 hours a day and were even able to capture the deadly attack on Kenyatta avenue last weekend where Kabete MP George Muchai and his three aides were killed.
Kidero at the same time told off his critics for alleging that he was not concentrating on issues affecting the city and its residents saying he was committed to ensuring timely and quality service delivery.
Cases of land grabbing have been on the rise in the recent past especially within the county of Nairobi.
